Of the past

Waking up suddenly, I think of the past
Wondering about relationships that did not last

Why did they give me so much pain?
Was there really anything to gain?

So much time, so much effort wasted, why?
Feels like an entire era has gone by

The hurt remains, but is there a sense of loss?
Sometimes life seems to have gone for a toss

I think it was meant to be for good
And I must take it better, really I should

Ofcourse it's not easy and troubles remain
And sometimes I'm left thinking of all the pain

Of not just me, but the others involved
Maybe some matters just cannot be resolved

It's best to move ahead and consider it destiny
Though angry I sometimes get, and wonder why me?

I don't like people who like to advise
They lack maturity, but think they are all wise

I should instead focus on those who care
For they come not in bunches; rather, are rare

My dreams live on, and I survive
I try to seek pleasure in little things, it keeps me alive.
